Does Mazda Have a Hybrid or Electric Vehicle? | Prime Mazda–Norwood, near Braintree

Despite significant performance and fuel economy advancements in the car's 135-history, the internal combustion engine remains largely inefficient and a significant source of planet-harming emissions—and these limitations are unfortunately inherent in the technology. However, after building momentum over the past two decades, hybrids and EVs are on a roll, and the automotive landscape has finally begun its shift to electrification.

Mazda is embracing and encouraging the transition to electric automobility. Through its Sustainable Zoom-Zoom 2030 long-term mission, the automaker is endeavoring to include some level in 100% of its vehicles, with all-electric models making up at least 25% of its lineup. As part of its commitment to a more sustainable automotive future, Mazda is developing its SKYACTIV Multi-Solution Scalable Architecture, on which it plans to build and launch 13 new electrified models (five hybrid, five plug-in hybrid, and three EVs) over the next four years.

2022 Mazda MX-30

The first vehicle to be built on Mazda's new platform is the upcoming 2022 Mazda MX-30. This all-electric compact crossover will fuse new EV powertrain technology with Mazda's famously agile handling and upscale accommodations. In addition to new electric G-Vectoring Control Plus driving dynamics, the MX-30 will feature pillarless rear-hinged doors and a roomy and refined cabin adorned with high-quality, sustainable cabin materials.

Mazda also plans to release a plug-in hybrid version of the MX-30, which will be powered by an electric motor and use Mazda's Wankel rotary engine as a range extender to recharge the batteries.
